EGU 2018 call for sessions 25 August 2017 The call for session proposals for the EGU 2018 General Assembly is now open. Until 8 September you can suggest new sessions with conveners and description, or you can propose modifications to current ones. Please note that, for the first time this year, the 8 September deadline also applies to short courses and townhall meetings. The next EGU General Assembly is taking place in Vienna, Austria on 8–13 April 2018. Read more

EGU Publications Committee Chair Hubert H.G. Savenije honoured by AGU 20 July 2017 Hubert H.G. Savenije, Professor of Hydrology at the Delft University of Technology and the Chair of the EGU Publications Committee, has been named as the recipient of the International Award of the American Geophysical Union. This award is given annually to one honoree in recognition “for making an outstanding contribution to furthering the Earth and space sciences and using science for the benefit of society in developing nations.” Read more

EGU journals: updated publication policy and revision of editors’, referees’, and authors’ obligations 3 July 2017 In response to the detection of a case of scientific malpractice by a topical editor of two of its journals (SOIL and Solid Earth), EGU and Copernicus Publications have revised the guidelines for authors, editors and reviewers. The journals now also have an updated publication policy. Read more
