New job vacancies at the EGU office: Chief Strategy & Finance Officer and Head of Media, Communications & Outreach 28 June 2019 The EGU is hiring for two positions at its Executive Office in Munich, Germany. Following the launch of the EGU 2019-2025 strategy, we have created a new position of Chief Strategy & Finance Officer to lead the creation and implementation of a strategic plan for the EGU. We are also looking for a Head of Media, Communications & Outreach to manage EGU press and communication activities and lead the media, communications and outreach team. Read more
Submit your session ideas for the EGU General Assembly 2020! 25 June 2019 The call for session proposals for the EGU General Assembly 2020 is now open. Until 5 September you can suggest new scientific sessions with conveners and description, and/or submit short course ideas. The deadline to submit proposals for Union Symposia and Great Debates is 15 August. The next EGU General Assembly is taking place in Vienna, Austria on 3–8 May 2020. Read more

Apply for EGU financial support for training schools and conference series 4 June 2019 Do you need support from the EGU to organise a training school or a conference in the Earth, planetary or space sciences? Up until 15 August 2019, we welcome applications from EGU members interested in organising an Angioletta Coradini Conference, a Mary Anning Conference or an Alexander von Humboldt Conference. To apply, please check the conference series benefits and requirements page before submitting your proposal. We also welcome proposals for training schools scheduled for 2020. Read more

Introducing Geoscience Days, a new EGU series of national public engagement events 6 May 2019 The EGU Geoscience Days are events organised around Europe that aim to raise awareness of the Earth, planetary and space sciences to students, researchers, the wider public and national policymakers. Results of the EGU Extraordinary Spring Election 2019 for SSS Division President announced 15 April 2019 The EGU election for the role of President of the Soil System Sciences (SSS) Division was open for votes from all 2019 EGU members affiliated with the division from 9 April until 14 April 2019. Claudio Zaccone was elected as SSS Division President for a two-year term (2019–2021) starting today. He may stand for re-election for a further two years at the EGU Autumn Election 2019.
