EGU and Copernicus announce new inclusive name change policy for all publications Press release 7 June 2022 The European Geosciences Union and our publishing partner Copernicus are announcing sweeping new changes, that will give our authors the ability to make vital alterations to their names in previously published scientific literature. This will allow researchers to change their name for several reasons, from a need by transgender authors to change their first name to affirm their gender, to a change in marital status, to cultural name changes, or any other reason. Floating mats of plastic and plants are visible from space Press release 25 May 2022 As water hyacinths peacefully float down tropical rivers, plastic trash gets ensnared in the leaves and roots. A group of researchers is using hyacinths’ large patches to find river plastics in need of cleanup. Findings were presented at EGU’s General Assembly 2022, which is taking place from 23 – 27 May 2022. Read more
