The EGU 2024 Science-Policy Pairing Scheme with MEP Jutta Paulus

We are pleased to announce that this year’s pairing will be with Jutta Paulus, a German Member of the European Parliament (MEP), representing the Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance. Ms Paulus is a member of the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and a substitute member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and the Committee on Transport and Tourism. Before joining the Parliament, Paulus worked as a pharmacist, founded a laboratory for environmental and pollutant analysis, and had an extensive political career in Germany.

The successful applicant will join Ms Paulus and her team in Brussels and may be asked to participate in various aspects of policymaking, which may include:

The pairing scheme will likely take place in early December 2024. This opportunity is open to all EGU members who are EU citizens living in or outside of Europe and EGU members who are EU residents at the time of application and the pairing scheme period itself. As a part of the pairing scheme, EGU will cover the scientist’s travel and accommodation expenses (within a specific budget – please enquire for more details). To apply, please submit your application form, attaching a CV (max 1-page) and a cover letter outlining your motivation for participating in the pairing scheme, by midnight CET 4 November 2024.
