This year the EGU Awards Committee received 218 eligible nominations, approximately 38% of which were for female nominees, although it must be noted that the gender of nominees is only assumed and not confirmed. 42% of this year’s awardees are female, with 2% preferring not to disclose their gender identity. In addition to the Union and Division Awards and Medals, the EGU also bestows a number of awards to students taking part in its annual General Assembly. These Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Awards aim to further improve the overall quality of poster and PICO presentations and foster students’ excitement to present their research at a large scientific conference. The list of recipients of the 2023 OSPP Awards is now available online. For more information about the OSPP awards, including application criteria and how to apply in 2024, please visit the OSPP page.
