EGU25 online Press Centre now live – media invited to explore press conferences, media highlights, tips sheets, and more

MUNICH – The countdown to the European Geosciences Union’s General Assembly (EGU25) has begun! This year’s hybrid conference takes place onsite in Vienna, Austria, and online from 27 April to 2 May 2025.

EGU is excited to announce that the online Press Centre is now live to provide media attendees early access to key resources and information.

The Press Centre includes:

Press conferences: Live briefings on cutting-edge research in the Earth, planetary, and space sciences.

Media Highlights: Expert-curated sessions selected for their media relevance and broad appeal.

Media Tip Sheets: Groupings of standout sessions organised by scientific themes.

Press Releases: Regular updates on breaking research presented at the meeting.

We encourage media participants to explore the Press Centre and begin planning their coverage. The EGU25 App is also available to help navigate the full programme, build a personal schedule, access the EGU Today newsletter, and more.

Registration & logistics

● Media registration remains open throughout the conference. Please note that on-site registration is not available, and registration is only possible online.
● Media waivers submitted before Friday, 25 April at 17:30 CEST will be processed ahead of the conference. Later submissions will be reviewed daily at 19:00.

Haven’t registered yet for EGU25?

Check your eligibility to attend. Media registrations will remain open till the last day of the conference, however due to a high volume of registrations this year we recommend registering at the earliest.

The European Geosciences Union (EGU) is Europe’s premier geosciences union, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the Earth, planetary, and space sciences for the benefit of humanity, worldwide. It is a non-profit interdisciplinary learned association of scientists founded in 2002 with headquarters in Munich, Germany. The EGU publishes a number of diverse scientific journals that use an innovative open access format and organises topical meetings plus education and outreach activities. Its annual General Assembly is the largest and most prominent European geosciences event, attracting more than 19,000 scientists from all over the world. The meeting’s sessions cover a wide range of topics, including volcanology, planetary exploration, the Earth’s internal structure and atmosphere, climate, energy, and resources.
