The EGU Education Committee works to promote the Earth, planetary, and space sciences in schools and higher education settings, as well as the activities of EGU amongst secondary school teachers, university educators and all other interested individuals and organisations. The committee focuses on improving communication between scientists and school teachers, supporting the training and professional development of educators, and activities which facilitate learning in higher education.

The Committee is seeking four new members to support our diverse and innovative programme of events, funding and training. Candidates are invited to familiarise themselves with the Education Committee’s portfolio of initiatives before applying.

Prospective candidates should be:
• Interested in developing innovative activities which promote the geosciences in education settings,
• Strongly interested in geoscience education in secondary and/or tertiary education,
• Experienced in building networks and fostering collaboration in geoscience subjects,
The application must contain the following documents:
• A letter of motivation (1 page) explaining how the applicant could contribute to EGU’s educational activities,
• A CV (2 pages),

We welcome applicants both from within and outside of Europe, especially from EU-13 countries. Early career scientists are encouraged to apply. For further information about the positions, which are voluntary, please contact Jean-Luc Berenguer, the Chair of the Education Committee at education@egu.eu.

Applications must be written in English and should be submitted as a single pdf to the Education Committee Chair Jean-Luc Berenguer at education@egu.eu, by 30 September 2024.
