SinoProbe Laboratory, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences

The SinoProbe Laboratory is the first of its kind in China in the field of Integrated Deep Earth Research and Exploration. The laboratory has a broad focus, which includes Lithosphere Structure, Continental Deformation, Mantle Convection, Metallogeny, Deep Processes and Dynamics, with application to Geothermal Energy, Carbon Sequestration, Mineral deposits etc. Embracing “Big Data on Deep Earth”, Deep Earth Studies and exploration technologies, the SinoProbe Lab aims at becoming the key centre for deep Earth scientific research in China with extensive international collaboration.

Up-to four postdoctoral fellows are planned to be recruited in 2025 within the subjects:
- Seismic structure of the Lithosphere; Majors: Solid Earth Geophysics, Seismology
- Lithosphere Thermo-compositional Structure and Evolution; Majors: Solid Earth Geophysics and Geodynamics
- Geodynamic Modelling of Lithosphere Processes; Majors: Solid Earth Geophysics, Geodynamics, Numerical Modelling
- Geochemistry and metallogenic systems; Majors: Geochemistry, Petrology, Mineral Deposits, Exploration Geophysics

Full time for 2 years with options for continuation depending on performance.

The Laboratory will provide research funds and relevant research conditions to the post-doctoral researchers and support them to apply for national research funding.

Outstanding post-doctoral fellows, who have finished their post-doctoral research work, will have priority for employment by the Laboratory and will be supported in applying for national programs for talents.

Requirements
1) PhD degree less than 3 years old and maximum age of 35 at time of employment; ability to carry out independent scientific research.
2) Minimum requirement is 2 published or accepted first-authored publications in international Q1 or Q2 journals.
3) English proficiency in oral and written communication.
4) Admission priority will be given to recent overseas PhD graduates returning to China and to outstanding foreign candidates.
