Ready to leverage cloud seeding to investigate the susceptibility of natural clouds to aerosols? Join the BeyondCloudlab project at the Atmospheric Physics Group, ETH Zurich, Switzerland. We’re using novel cloud seeding experiments, advanced measurements (UAVs, holographic imager, cloud radars), and high-resolution modeling (ICON-LEM) to understand aerosol-cloud-radiation interactions.
We have 3 fully funded PhD positions (3-4 years) available:
- Warm Clouds: Experimental field work, investigate warm cloud processes & seeding impacts: https://lnkd.in/eGwzMt3j
- Ice Clouds: Experimental field work, Investigate ice growth pathways & cloud dynamics: https://lnkd.in/ehrh24CH
- Cloud Modeling: Simulate seeding experiments & improve cloud models (ICON-LEM): https://lnkd.in/eMASxv5Q
Be part of an exciting international collaboration (ETH Zurich, PSI, U. Oslo)
More detailed information and the application submission portal can be found at the provided links. Review of applications will begin May 1, 2025, and will continue until the positions are filled. The anticipated start date is between July 1 and September 1, 2025.
