Job description

Earth Sciences, Faculty Position
Khalifa University and the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences seek applicants for a faculty position at the Full Professor level in the Department of Earth Science for Fall 2025. We seek applicants who will strengthen our research and education programs in core and emerging areas of Earth Sciences. Only applicants with experience in the following areas will be considered:

  • Geophysics
  • Remote sensing and planetary observation
  • Structural Geology
  • Geomatics
  • Digital geoscience
    Preferential consideration will be given to applicants with at least 10 years of academic experience and a strong research, teaching, and service portfolio.
    The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate field-based courses. The applicant may support teaching courses in the following areas Remote Sensing, Geophysical Imaging, Geographic Information Systems, Plate Tectonics and Geodynamics, Solid Earth, Environmental and Engineering Geophysics.

Required Qualifications:
1. Ph.D. in Earth and Planetary Sciences, or a related discipline.
2. Record of research excellence commensurate with the applicant’s academic career history.
3. Record of excellence in teaching as appropriate to the applicant’s academic experience.
4. Record of successful graduate student supervision.
5. Record of success in securing and managing funded research projects.

Additional Qualifications: 1. Outstanding publication record in top journals and conferences in the applicant’s areas of research interests. 2. Outstanding communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and commitment to a career of academic excellence and innovation. 3. Demonstrated commitment to curriculum development and innovation in university education. 4. Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship and technology transfer.
