Geosciences Lecturer
The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Central Michigan University invites applications for a full-time Fixed-Term faculty position in Geosciences beginning in August 2025. This appointment is for the 2025-2026 academic year, with a possibility of renewal. The successful candidate is expected to teach survey-level courses in geosciences both in person and online.
Required Qualifications: Master’s or Ph.D. degree in geosciences or a related field. Strong oral and written communication skills. Potential for outstanding teaching. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Candidates with a demonstrated record of effective teaching at the college level and experience teaching courses with both online and face-to-face modalities will be strongly preferred.
Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) at CMU is a multidisciplinary department with expertise spanning Earth System Science, with a vibrant and collaborative environment and a strong reputation for scholarship and student outcomes. EAS offers B.S. degrees in Environmental Science, Meteorology, and Geology, and participates in the interdisciplinary Earth and Ecosystem Sciences Ph.D. program. We serve approximately 100 majors and minors across our programs and have a strong history of successful internship, career, and graduate school placements.
