Job description

Erova is seeking a Meteorologist to join our trading team. The successful candidate will provide specialised weather forecasts and climate insights to optimise trading strategies for renewable energy assets (wind & solar). This role is critical in maximising the value of renewable energy portfolios and managing weather-related risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse weather data to predict energy output from renewable assets and inform trading decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to assess weather-related risks and opportunities.
  • Utilise advanced meteorological tools and machine learning techniques to enhance third party forecasting accuracy.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in renewable energy meteorology and integrate new technologies into forecasting processes

Who we’re looking for:

  • Proficiency in meteorological modelling tools (e.g., WRF, ECMWF) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, C).
  • Honours degree in Meteorology, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex weather data.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to traders and decision-makers.
