The Géoazur DAS team (10+ people) seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to advance Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) for ocean applications. This position focuses on leveraging new fiber-optic sensing datasets to address core challenges in DAS calibration, frequency response, and instrumentation benchmarking within marine research. The research team applies DAS technology across various oceanography, hydroacoustics, and marine conservation studies.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Oceanography, Geophysics, Applied Physics, or a related field. Experience in DAS or acoustic data analysis is preferred. We welcome candidates with innovative DAS ideas and are open to supporting creative research directions with potential for additional funding.
The position is available starting January 2025. Interested candidates are invited to submit a CV, cover letter, and three references at sladen-AT-geoazur.unice.fr. The contract is for 18 months with possibilities of extension
