The Environmental Academic Area of IE University, Spain, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Climate Dynamics to start in September 2025.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can broaden our research in the components of the Earth’s climate system and to enhance our expertise in the processes governing Earth’s climate system through various methodologies and approaches, including theory, modeling, instrumental observations, and data analysis.
We welcome expertise in other innovative research areas such as climate change mitigation and adaptation, climate modeling and simulations, paleoclimate studies, climate impacts on biodiversity, and the socio-economic aspects of climate change.
The successful candidate is expected to teach the following classes:
Data Analysis, Modeling, and Big Data Applied to Earth Systems Sciences
Climate Change, Meteorology, and Climatology
Climate Change Modeling Electives
The candidate will primarily be part of the IE School of Science and Technology. and the Bachelor´s degree in Environmental Sciences for Sustainability. The Environmental Academic Area encompasses a broad range of sustainability expertise. We are committed to advancing knowledge in climate systems and fostering an interdisciplinary approach to environmental challenges.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Climate Science, Atmospheric Science, Earth System Science, or a related field.
A strong research background with the potential to develop a robust research program.
Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
