The Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences at the California Institute of Technology is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in planetary science.
The initial appointment at the assistant professor level is contingent upon completion of a PhD in a relevant field. Exceptionally well-qualified candidates may also be considered at the associate and full professor level.

Interested applicants should submit an electronic application, which includes (i) a curriculum vitae that includes a list of publications, (ii) a statement of proposed research activities not exceeding 3 pages, (iii) an education statement that addresses the applicant’s thoughts on classroom and laboratory instruction, mentorship of students and postdoctoral scholars, and ways to foster an inclusive, equitable environment for the development of scholars who come to Caltech with many different backgrounds and experiences (up to 2 pages), (iv) 2-3 select first-author publications, and (v) three letters of recommendation. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled and reviews are anticipated to begin on October 15, 2024.
Salaries for professorial faculty at Caltech fall in the range $125,000 to $400,000.
