Job description

RESEARCH PROJECT
This PhD project will investigate tree transpiration in temperate forests when facing drought conditions. The project addresses the following research questions:
- How does tree transpiration vary during and after a drought?
- How does the water use efficiency of trees vary during and after a drought?

Using sap flow measurements and isotopic analyses, the student will characterize the dynamics of water use as well as water use efficiency for different tree species in the temperate forest.

This project is being carried out in partnership with the provincial ministry of forests and will use long-term measurements of sap flux density. The project also includes field data collection at the Kenauk Private Reserve : https://institutkenauk.org/fr/
