Patrick Sogno is a researcher at the Earth Observation Center (EOC) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and a PhD candidate at the University of Würzburg, under the supervision of Prof. Claudia Kuenzer. His research focuses on Earth Observation for the analysis of continental surface water dynamics in the context of Global Change.

The study presented at EGU24 focused on the evaluation of trends, patterns, and drivers of African surface water dynamics. He analyzed surface water trends throughout the continent, identified causal impacts on Africa’s major water bodies, and assessed similarities between different lakes.
