The 2024 Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Award is awarded to Mirjam Scheller for the poster/PICO entitled:
Combining citizen science data and the hierarchical structuring of temporary streams to reconstruct the patterns of channel wetting and drying (Scheller, M.; Durighetto, N.; van Meerveld, I.; Seibert, J.; Botter, G.)

Mirjam Scheller is a PhD student at the Department of Geography of the University of Zurich. Her research focuses on temporary (i.e., non-perennial) streams. She has been investigating the possibilities of citizen science derived observations considering their quality as well as their usefulness. At EGU 2024, she presented the application of citizen science flow state observations to derive a hierarchical structure of stream wetting and drying within a study area. The hierarchy could successfully been derived and additional data gaps of the irregular citizen science dataset could be complemented.
