HS Hydrological Sciences
The 2024 Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Award is awarded to Franziska Clerc-Schwarzenbach for the poster/PICO entitled:
What is more important for model calibration: information on the discharge dynamics or information on the discharge volume? (Clerc-Schwarzenbach, F.; van Meerveld, I.; Vis, M.; Seibert, J.)

Franziska Clerc-Schwarzenbach is a PhD student at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. In her PhD research supervised by Jan Seibert and Ilja van Meerveld, she focuses on large-sample hydrology. She is interested in the potential of large-sample hydrology for the assessment of the value of data for hydrological model calibration as well as in the quality of different large-sample hydrology products. In the awarded work, Franziska presented first results on the value of different data types for hydrological model calibration as well as a study comparing the feasibility of the quasi-global Caravan dataset and three national CAMELS datasets for hydrological model calibration.
