Anja Katzenberger is a PhD student at the Potsdam Institute of Climate Impact Research and the University of Potsdam, Germany. Her research is focused on monsoon systems as one intriguing mosaic piece in the complexity of the global atmospheric circulation. Her work includes the analysis of climate models to understand how monsoon systems are projected to change under global warming. She also uses econometric methods to understand better how these changes influence local economy. Additionally, she studies circulation dynamics by running simulations with Earth system models.
In her conference contribution, Anja presents her work with an idealized model setup that is particularly designed to study meridional circulations including the tropical rainbelt and monsoon dynamics, the Monsoon Planet setup.
