Anastasia Vogelbacher is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Geo-Hydroinformatics (GHI) at Hamburg University of Technology. Her research aims to provide valuable insights into groundwater-atmosphere interactions across various scales, and is part of the interdisciplinary Cluster of Excellence “Climate, Climatic Change, and Society” (CLICCS).
Currently, she is focusing on the physical characterization and prediction of extreme events. The study presented at EGU24 summarized early findings from a comprehensive analysis of global heatwave occurrences, evaluating the influence of different land properties, climatic variables, and groundwater depth.
