Elisie Kåresdotter is a PhD candidate at the Department of Physical Geography at Stockholm University. Her research focuses on human conflict and cooperation around water or water-dependent natural resources and how this is affected by climate change. She is currently working on finalizing her PhD (estimated May 2024) and plans on continuing her work as a Postdoc.
At the awarded talk Elisie presented a summary of all major findings from her years of working on this topic, including i) a new comprehensive water cooperation and conflict events database (1951-2019) ii) mapping and trends of conflict and cooperation, iii) how humans have affected water resources worldwide, iv) research gaps evaluation, and v) whether cooperation can help mitigate water conflict.
