Katrin Müller is a PhD student in the Atmospheric Physics section of the Alfred-Wegener-Institute (AWI) in Potsdam led by Prof. Markus Rex. Her main research interests are the measurements of tropospheric ozone in the tropical West Pacific and related chemical and dynamical processes in this region important for the supply of chemical species to the stratosphere. After initially setting up an atmospheric research station in Palau as part of the EU project StratoClim, she conducted several balloon-sounding campaigns since 2016 cooperating also with NASA and NOAA (POSIDON 2016, ACCLIP 2020).
The PICO presented at the EGU GA 2019 introduces the new research station in Palau and the 3-year tropospheric ozone dataset from balloon-soundings, describing the current status of the analyses of seasonal variabilities, transport and origin of air masses.
