The 2019 Outstanding Student Poster and PICO (OSPP) Award is awarded to Iulia-Madalina Streanga for the poster/PICO entitled:
A calibration study of Sr/Ca ratios and δ18O to sea surface temperature and salinity in the West Pacific Warm Pool (Streanga, I.-M.; Hughen, K. A.; Jung, S.)

At the time of her participation in EGU 2019, Iulia-Madalina Streanga was a 4th year undergraduate student in Environmental Geoscience at The University of Edinburgh. The research she presented at EGU 2019 used measurements of Sr/Ca and δ18O on a coral skeleton drill core from Kosrae Island, Federal States of Micronesia, as proxies for changes in sea surface temperature and salinity. Currently, Iulia is a first-year PhD student in the MIT/WHOI Joint Program in Chemical Oceanography.
