The 2019 Outstanding Student Poster and PICO (OSPP) Award is awarded to Elena Serra for the poster/PICO entitled:

Late-glacial to Holocene sediment dynamics in high Alpine regions – Insights from multimethodological approach on aeolian deposits (Sanetsch Pass, Switzerland) (Serra, E.; Valla, P. G.; Gribenski, N.; Braillard, L.)

Elena Serra is a PhD student at the Institute of Geological Sciences and Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research, University of Bern (Switzerland). Her research aims to improve the understanding of paleoclimatic conditions in the western European Alps since the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), by using paleo-glacier reconstructions and high-altitude sediment deposits as paleo-climate proxies.
Her EGU-2019 poster reports the results of a multi-methods study conducted on high-elevation aeolian and fluvioglacial deposits at the Sanetsch pass (Switzerland). By combining sediment stratigraphy, geochemistry and geochronology, she proposed a Late-Glacial to Holocene reconstruction of sediment deposition, dynamics and connectivity in a high-elevation Alpine setting.
