Saniya Behzadpour is a PhD student at the Institute of Geodesy of the Technical University Graz (Austria) and the Institute of Geodesy of the Leibniz University Hannover (Germany). Her research focuses on improving the quality of the gravity field from GRACE/GRACE-FO data by improving physical and stochastic error models in the processing chain.
In the awarded poster, she presented results of an investigation on range rate postfit residuals of the GRACE data. This investigation indicates systematic errors in the observations due to eclipse crossings of the GRACE-A and GRACE-B satellites. These errors can be reduced by co-estimation of additional calibration parameters in the gravity field recovery process. Depending on the month under study, the proposed approach can improve the gravity field solution up to 5% RMS over the oceans.
