__Marco A. Jiménez-González is a PhD student at the National Museum of Natural Sciences (Higher Council for Scientific Research, Madrid, Spain), he is supervised by Dr. Gonzalo Almendros (National Museum of Natural Sciences) and Dr. Ana M. Álvarez (Autonomous University of Madrid). His research interests center on the analysis of factors involved in soil carbon sequestration and their relation with the molecular composition of the soil organic matter. In the work presented at the General Assembly 2016 he tries to find out some relationships between the soil organic carbon content and the molecular composition of alkanes presents in the soil lipid fraction.
