Marc recently finished his PhD at University of Delaware’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment (USA), where he worked with Fabrice Veron. There, he experimentally investigated air-sea momentum flux mechanisms in the presence of wind and surface waves. Exchanges of momentum, energy, heat, and mass between the ocean and the atmosphere are important parameters for short term weather and sea state forecasts, as well as for global climate and ocean dynamics.
Marc is now a NSF Postdoctoral fellow (National Science Foundation, USA), working at the Institute of Coastal Research at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (Germany), and he is using observations to quantify air-sea momentum flux mechanisms in high wind conditions in the North and Baltic Seas.
