I am a PhD student at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. I have broad interest in biogeochemical cycling of N, C and water in forest ecosystems. My PhD project mainly focuses on N cycling in humid sub-tropical forests. I work with the stable 15N isotope to investigate the fate of deposition N and its retention mechanism in humid sub-tropical forest using a well-established long-term (a decade) and on-going N addition experiment located in south China. Using data obtained from similar experiments in Europe, I seek to see if the retention mechanisms of deposition N in humid sub-tropical forests differ from that of temperate forests.
