SM Seismology
The 2015 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Elizabeth Entwistle for the poster/PICO entitled:
Constructing new seismograms from old earthquakes: Retrospective seismology at multiple length scales (Entwistle, E.; Curtis, A.; Galetti, E.; Baptie, B.; Meles, G.)

In December 2014 I received my PhD from the University of Edinburgh, entitled “Retrospective Seismology by Source-Receiver Interferometry”. This research used source-receiver interferometry (SRI) to construct virtual surface wave seismograms of past earthquakes at seismometer locations throughout the USA. The poster at EGU 2015 presents two different SRI methodologies and a set of virtual seismograms of a M 6.5 earthquake that occurred off the coast of California. The potential of SRI to construct earthquake seismograms of past events at new, more desirable locations is highlighted.
