The 2014 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Paweł Swaczyna for the poster/PICO entitled:
Fluxes of energetic neutral helium atoms from the heliosheath and the IBEX Ribbon (Swaczyna, P.; Grzedzielski, S.; Bzowski, M.)

Paweł Swaczyna is a PhD Student at the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences, under the supervision of Dr. Maciej Bzowski and Prof. Stan Grzedzielski. He received the MSc degree in Theoretical Physics from the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw in 2013. The poster presented at the EGU General Assembly 2014 summarize results on expected fluxes of helium atoms from the heliosphere and IBEX Ribbon. Results suggest that potential future measurement of neutral energetic helium atoms at 1 AU from the Sun could be a unique source of information about the structure and physical state of the interstellar medium around heliosphere within 20 000 AU, i.e., in the region currently observationally inaccessible using telescopic techniques.
