Marija Mustać is a PhD student in the Research School of Earth Sciences at the Australian National University. She received a MSc degree in Physics-Geophysics at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Her research is focused on earthquake source kinematics, particularly on treating uncertainties in the seismic moment tensor inversion. The poster at EGU 2014 presents a method developed in a Bayesian framework to study moderate earthquakes and explosions at regional distances. Its probabilistic approach yields the model uncertainties together with the best fit model, while the hierarchical formulation allows adequate treatment of noise in the data.
