The 2014 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Majid Bastankhah for the poster/PICO entitled:
Effects of Positive versus Negative Yaw Angles on Wind-Turbine Performance: An Application of BEM Theory (Bastankhah, M.; Porté-Age, F.)
Majid Bastankhah is a Ph.D. student in WIRE laboratory at EPFL, Switzerland. His research mainly focusses on characterizing the interaction of atmospheric-boundary layer with wind turbines. In his EGU 2014 presentation, blade-element momentum theory (BEM) was used to investigate the behavior of yawed turbines in terms of unsteady loads, particularly the difference between positive and negative yaw angles.
