Jana Eichel is a PhD student at the Department of Geography at the University of Bonn (Germany) with the supervisors Prof. Richard Dikau and Prof. Sebastian Schmidtlein (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). Her research focuses on interactions between vegetation and geomorphic forms and processes in a high alpine environment, the Turtmann glacier forefield (Switzerland). The EGU poster 2014 integrates the first results of her research with the most recent concepts from biogeomorphology. It also develops new conceptual ideas on how and when plants and geomorphic processes interact on lateral moraines, and which patterns are produced. Key plant species, which drive these interactions, are identified.
