The 2014 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Isabel Jalón Rojas for the poster/PICO entitled:
Trends in turbidity in the fluvial section of a highly turbid macrotidal estuary, the Gironde in SW France, based on continuous in-situ monitoring (Jalón Rojas, I.; Schmidt, S.; Sottolichio, A.)

Isabel Jalón Rojas is a PhD student at the EPOC (Environnements et Paléoenvironnements Océaniques et Continentaux) laboratory, Université de Bordeaux (France), under the supervision of Dr. Sabine Schmidt and Dr. Aldo Sottolichio. She has a BSc in Civil Engineering and a MSc in Environmental Water Systems. Her research interests lie in estuarine sediment transport processes, with a particular focus on understanding the changes in the dynamics of suspended sediments in the Gironde estuary in relation to local and global pressures. The EGU 2014 poster presents a 9-year record of turbidity in the Gironde estuary and discusses main trends at different time scales in its tidal sections.
