The 2014 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Anne Dreißigacker for the poster/PICO entitled:
Development of Standard Samples for on-board Calibration of a New Planetary Fluorescence Spectrometer (Dreißigacker, A.; Köhler, E.; Fabel, O.; van Gasselt, S.; Meyer, M.)
Anne Dreißigacker is a master student at the Planetary Sciences Department at Freie Universität Berlin (FUB), Germany, supervised by Stephan van Gasselt and Ralf Milke. Her research work is a part of the resident Planetary X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer Development Group, and is done in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) Berlin.
Her research focuses on the calibration of orbital x-ray fluorescence spectrometers, characteristics of lunar rocks and regolith in x-ray spectroscopy, and the development and construction of reference targets of lunar analogue composition.
The awarded poster presents the x-ray spectrometer calibration technique with indirect solar monitor, some characteristics of the x-ray fluorescence spectrometer under construction, and the different steps of reference target development.
