Vanja Blažica is a PhD student in the Department of Physics at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, supervised by Prof. Nedjeljka Žagar. Her research interests are focused on mesoscale dynamics and modelling for numerical weather prediction (NWP). In particular, she has been studying spectral limited area modelling and computation of energy spectra for limited domains. Her poster at the EGU General Assembly 2013 presented her work on the quantification of rotational and divergent kinetic energy and associated balance properties in the NWP model ALADIN.
