Chase J. Shyu is a master student at the Institute of Geosciences, National Taiwan University, supervised by Prof. Yue-Gau Chen and Dr. Eh Tan. He is interested in Geodynamics and Thermochronology and loves to combine field geology, geochemistry, and geophysics. With sampling, analyzing, and programming, he is working on the thermo-mechanical history at Hsuehshan Range in central Taiwan. The awarded poster at EGU 2013, his master’s project, presented the preliminary results and conclusions. A special thermochronological phenomenon during the initial stage of orogeny is observed in experimental data and modeling results in the study area.
