Anna Hedenrud is a PhD student at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Gothenburg. Her supervisors are Prof. Leif Klemedtsson (Dept of Earth Sciences, University of Gothenburg) and Prof. Anders Lindroth (Dept of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science, Lund University). During her PhD studies, she is investigating how nitrogen fertilization affects the soil-atmosphere exchange of greenhouse gases, mainly nitrous oxide, from a bio-energy plantation. Her poster at EGU 2013 featured preliminary results of nitrous oxide gas measurements after fertilization with sewage sludge. The results highlight the importance of timing of fertilization for lower nitrous oxide emissions, the low accumulated emissions despite high peak emission events, and the seasonal emission pattern.
