The 2012 Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Award is awarded to Shahab Fatemi for the poster/PICO entitled:

Modeling the Lunar Plasma Wake (Fatemi, S.; Holmström, M.; Futaana, Y.)

Shahab Fatemi is a PhD student at the Swedish Institute of Space Physics, IRF-Kiruna, Sweden, and a member of National Graduate School of Space Technology (NGSST)at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. He is supervised by Assoc. Prof. Mats Holmström and Dr. Yoshifumi Futaana. Shahab is currently working on the modelling the solar wind plasma interaction with the Moon, and his main topic of interests are modeling and studying the solar wind plasma interaction with the airless bodies. The awarded poster at EGU 2012 presented the results of his recent work about the effects of lunar surface plasma absorption on the solar wind plasma in the night-side of the Moon, published at the Journal of Geophysical Research, Space Physics, 2012.
