Andrea Steiner just received her master’s degree in Meteorology from the University of Vienna and is currently working as a junior researcher within the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics. Her thesis and her work focus on the quality control of operational meteorological in situ observations, in particular, on the improvement of the department’s quality control system ‘VERA-QC’. The nominated poster summarizes the main features of VERA-QC, presents the system’s basic principles (the spatial or spatiotemporal consistency check is applicable to measurements featuring a high degree of redundancy) and gives results from a comparison to other methods.
