The 2010 Young Scientist Outstanding Poster Paper (YSOPP) Award is awarded to Oliver Plümper for the poster/PICO entitled:
Constraining metasomatism in the oceanic lithosphere (Plümper, O.; Beinlich, A.; Austrheim, H.)
Oliver Plümper is a PhD student at Physics of Geological Processes (PGP), University of Oslo, working on fluid-induced mineral replacement reactions in peridotites, within the EU Initial Training Network Delta-Min. He combines field investigations with a variety of analytical techniques, including (scanning) transmission electron microscopy, electron backscatter diffraction and x-ray microtomography to gain insights into fluid-mediated phase transformations, their mechanism and associated physicochemical changes. His EGU poster 2010 presents microstructural and chemical investigations to better constrain metasomatic processes in the oceanic lithosphere using Raman spectroscopy, electron backscatter diffraction and reactive transport modeling.
