The 2010 Young Scientist Outstanding Poster Paper (YSOPP) Award is awarded to Nathalie Schaller for the poster/PICO entitled:
How well do climate models simulate precipitation? (Schaller, N.; Mahlstein, I.; Cermak, J.; Knutti, R.)

Nathalie Schaller is a PhD student at ETH Zurich (Switzerland) under the supervision of Jan Cermak and Reto Knutti. For her PhD project, she investigates the response of the hydrological cycle in atmosphere-ocean general circulation models to different forcings in the context of anthropogenic climate change. Her poster summarizes results of a model evaluation performed for precipitation and shows that on a regional scale, the ensemble mean does not outperform any single model.
