Kei Ogata obtained his Ph.D on March 2010 from the Earth Science Department of the University of Parma (Italy) with a thesis regarding field-based study of sedimentary mass transport processes and products in structurally confined basins. He investigated ancient examples of mass transport deposits mainly from the Northern Apennines (Italy) and partly from the South-Central Pyrenees (Spain) using a structural, stratigraphic and sedimentological approach, integrating outcrop data with those emerging from modern marine geology studies. The EGU poster 2010 presents some results from his Ph.D thesis about mass transport-related soft sediment deformations and implications on submarine landslide kinematics.
