Ebrahim Shahraeeni is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich. He is interested in the experimental and numerical investigation of transfer phenomena in porous media during evaporation. His EGU2010 poster summarizes the key findings from his work regarding infrared thermography of evaporative surfaces where he addressed thermal signature of the phase change and mass exchange during evaporation from a heterogeneous porous surface. Ebrahim’s current research is focused on issues of mass exchange coupling to the boundary layer during evaporation and enhancement mechanisms for vapor diffusion in porous media.
