The 2006 Young Scientist Outstanding Poster Paper (YSOPP) Award is awarded to Thomas Szegvary for the poster/PICO entitled:
European 222-RN flux map for atmospheric tracer applications (Szegvary, T.; Conen, F.; Leuenberger, M.C.)

Thomas is a PhD student at the Institute of Environmental Geosciences at the University of Basel. The aim of his research is to establish a method for better mapping abilities of the 222-RN flux source term while using a commonly measured proxy, terrestrial gamma dose rate. 222-RN flux is commonly used as a natural tracer for climate models. To improve such models a detailed source term of the 222-RN flux is necessary.
