NP Nonlinear Processes in Geosciences

The 2011 Division Outstanding Young Scientist Award is awarded to Reik Volker Donner for highly innovative contributions to new techniques of nonlinear time series analysis and their applications in the geosciences.

Reik Donner currently works as a Research Associate in the Research Domain “Transdisciplinary Concepts and Methods” at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. His scientific work is focused on the development of advanced nonlinear methods of time series analysis and their application to problems from different geoscientific disciplines (in particular, to climate-related questions) as well as other fields of applications. Recent research interests particularly include the development and utilization of complex network approaches for dynamical systems and time series analysis.
