EGU training schools offer early career scientists specialist training opportunities they do not normally have access to in their home institutions. Up until 15 August 2018, we welcome requests for EGU support of training schools in the Earth, planetary or space sciences scheduled for 2019.

In addition, we welcome proposals for conferences on solar system and planetary processes, as well as on biochemical processes in the Earth system, in line with two new EGU conference series we are launching that are named in honour of two female scientists. The Angioletta Corradini and Mary Anning conferences are to be held every two years with their first editions in 2019 or 2020. The deadline to submit proposals is also 15 August 2018.

Angioletta Coradini Conferences aim to promote novel and innovative research related to all aspects of space research, in particular chemical and physical processes and their interactions with the Sun, other host stars, the heliosphere and astrospheres with the planetary magnetospheres, atmospheres and climate. The conferences are named in honour of Angioletta Coradini (1946–2011) an Italian astrophysicist and planetary scientist.

Mary Anning Conferences aim to promote novel and innovative research related to biogeochemical cycles in the Earth system. The conferences intend to bring together experienced and early career scientists for an interdisciplinary discussion on all aspects of chemical, physical, and biological processes and their interactions in the atmosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere and biosphere. The conferences are named in honour of Mary Anning (1799–1847), an English palaeontologist and fossil collector.
