MORE THAN JUST SESSIONS

Dive into the EGU and NH Community Experience

EGU 2025 is not just about presenting your research — it’s about connecting, learning, and growing as a Natural Hazards community. This year, there’s a fantastic lineup of community-led and interdisciplinary events where you can explore fresh ideas, meet new collaborators, and expand your impact.

From Short Courses (SC) and Splinter Meetings (SPM) that offer practical tools and in-depth discussions, to Townhall Meetings (TM) and Lectures by Related Scientific Societies (LRS) where policy, strategy, and science intersect — these are your spaces to engage beyond the poster board.

You’ll also find Education and Outreach Sessions (EOS), inspiring Art-Science installations, thought-provoking GeoCinema, and sessions focused on Policy and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) — all designed to spark dialogue and innovation in the natural hazards field.

Take a break from the schedule grid and immerse yourself in the vibrant side of science.

Early Career Scientists (ECS): Your Voice, Your Space in NH

If you’re an Early Career Scientist — whether you're a master's student, PhD candidate, postdoc, or in the early stages of your career outside academia — you are the future of the NH Division.

We’re here to support you in building your network, developing new skills, and finding your voice in the global natural hazards community.

At EGU 2025, you can:

🌍 Join ECS-dedicated events, like the Early Career Scientists Networking Reception (Tue, 29 April, 18:00–19:30 | Rooftop Foyer Blue Level) or the ECS Forum: Have your say! (Thu, 01 May, 12:45–13:45 | Room 3.16/17) — a relaxed and welcoming moment to connect with peers, mentors, and the NH team, or a moment of discussion to listen to our ECS community.

🗣️ Get involved in shaping the division — participating in sessions, engaging in discussions, or contributing to NH initiatives.

💡 Attend ECS-friendly Short Courses, designed to enhance both your scientific and transferable skills.

But your journey doesn’t stop at the end of the Assembly.

Being an active part of the ECS community is a year-round opportunity for personal and professional growth. Throughout the year, you can:

✍️ Write for our blog, sharing your research or experiences

🔥 Organize or participate in webinars and “campfire” discussions

📱 Help manage our social media and amplify voices from the NH community

💬 Join our regular ECS meetings, exchange ideas, and shape future activities together

Whether you're looking to develop leadership skills, build visibility in your field, or simply find your people — the NH ECS community is here for you, 365 days a year.
