EGU24 is almost here!

It’s time to find your community and make new connections in Vienna and online!

We’re just over two weeks away from Europe’s largest geoscience conference – EGU’s General Assembly EGU24 – our newest version of the EGU hybrid General Assembly! EGU24 is going to be our biggest hybrid meeting yet, bringing together thousands of researchers, exhibitors, students, artists and journalists for an exciting week of science, discussion and discovery.

Is this your first time attending the EGU General Assembly? We’ve got you covered! Check our quick first timer’s guide on how to plan for your conference week. And if you’re presenting at EGU24, find out how to make your EGU24 presentation accessible to all.

Meet Jane Roussak, EGU’s Events Manager, who works with the Programme Committee to create the General Assembly, as she tells us about the behind-the-scenes effort that goes into planning a the meeting and shares her tips and tricks for EGU24.

As a reminder, registration remains open for EGU24 throughout the week of the meeting, with single day on-site rates now available. We look forward to seeing you soon, both in Vienna and online!

Science for Policy

Interact with SciPol Experts at EGU24

EGU24 will not only provide participants with a range of engaging science for policy-related sessions, but it will also allow some to meet “science for policy experts“https://www.egu.eu/forms/EGU24_Science_for_Policy_Experts/! You can meet one of the many science for policy experts that will be at EGU24 by submitting your policy-related questions here before 5 April 2024 to be matched with an expert during the General Assembly week!

Alternatively, If you’d like to practice pitching your research to policymakers, you can submit your research topic or project here and join us on Tuesday 16 April to give your pitch to a panel of four science for policy experts! These experts will listen to your pitch and give you feedback and provide insights on areas that you can improve when discussing your research with policymakers in the future. Submit your research now as timeslots will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis!

Journal Watch

Each month we choose a scientific paper published in one of EGU’s open access journals to be our Journal Watch, but did you know you can also access preprints, abstracts and supplementary materials from our meetings and annual General Assembly through EGUsphere?
